•    Day 1 - Paris

The city is associated with numerous political, economical and artistic events. With a population of some 2.3 million inhabitants, it is the 7th biggest town in Europe. 33 bridges link the bans of the Seine. Its numerous touristic curiosities make it an exceptional town.

•    Day 2 – Paris / Bougival

  • Breakfast on Board
  • Departure in the morning. Today, Bougival is a quiet residential area, but used to be the favourite gathering place of romantic writers and impressionist artists. Along the wide meanders of the Seine, you will sail past the ultra-modern business centre of La Défense, the chic district of Neuilly-sur-Seine, and the greenery of the Bois de Boulogne before arriving at the mooring point
  • Buffet-Lunch on board as the boat heads towards Bougival
  • Visit of the surroundings of Rueil-Malmaison, where you will have the opportunity to visit the 17th century Malmaison Manor in the company of your local guide. Malmaison is a pilgrimage place for all the lovers of Napoleonian history. In 1799, Josephine, who had married General Bonaparte (her second wedding) three years earlier, buys the Manor. The first Consul enjoys spending the end of his decades there. It is the happiest time of their married life. In 1809, Josephine retires there after her divorce. In June 1815, at the end of the 100 days (Josephine has been dead for more than a year by that time) Napoleon takes refuge in it near Hortense, before eventually having to leave France.

•    Day 3 – Bougival ‐ Giverny - Vernon

  • Sailing to Vernon, through Mantes La Jolie and Giverny. The famous Impressionist painter Claude Monet lived in Giverny from 1882 till his death in 1926. The gardens of Giverny are fascinating: from the modest larkspur to the most wonderful roses, a profusion of plants and flowers cohabit in a colorful luxuriance. Nothing was left to chance in this garden, which reaches such perfection that it resembles no other man-made place.In  the “aquatic garden”, not far from the Japanese bridge so often painted by the artist, among the azaleas and the wisteria’s foliage, you will recognize the opulence and the serenity of the master’s paintings.

•    Day 4 – Vernon – Rouen

  • Departure to Rouen, sailing along a particularly interesting part of the Seine.
    Vernon, Normandy’s door onto the Seine valley, was created in the 9th century by Rollon,1st Duke of Normandy. As a passage between Paris and Rouen and a place where to go across the Seine, it was fortified very early and very often besieged. The Hundred Years War and the religion wars did not spare the town. Nevertheless, proud and beautiful, it survived those miseries.
  • Arrival in Rouen. Guided Tour of Rouen, the capital of Normandy, and hometown of Joan of Arc, is one of the most visited cities in Northern France, despite the numerous bombings it went through during the second world war. Her nickname of “museum town”, is due to its magnificent Gothic churches and numerous museums.
  • During the walking tour, entitled “the highlights of Rouen”, you will discover the Notre Dame cathedral, the medieval streets, the antiquaries district, the church and the Aitre Saint Maclou, the Eau de Robec street, the street of Gros Horloge, the façade of the law courts and the Old Market Square, where the St Joan of Arc church is located.
  • Evening in Rouen and / or transfer to Paris in coach
